Dear Brothers, Sisters, and Students,
Fr. Raimundo dos Anjos Beirão was born on 8th March 1810. In God’s loving providence, he was raised up at a time when the Church and society were passing through many difficulties. Yet he trusted completely in the Providence of God and courageously responded to God’s call. He believed firmly that God never abandons those who place their trust in Him, and often reminded his followers that the Providence of God will always provide for us.
Every life is born within a plan of love. God, in His providence, calls each person at a particular moment in history to be a sign of His presence in the world. Some are called in quiet ways, while others, like our Founder Fr. Raimundo, are called during challenging times to rekindle faith, restore hope, and serve those most in need. In an era marked by political upheaval, persecution of the Church, and spiritual confusion, he did not allow the darkness of his time to extinguish the light of his vocation. Instead, he became an instrument of God’s compassion, planting seeds of mercy that continue to bear fruit today.
At his side, God raised up our Foundress, Blessed Maria Clara of the Child Jesus, a woman of deep faith, courage, and total trust in Divine Providence. Her life was a living witness of loving service to the poor, the sick, and the abandoned. She encouraged her daughters with the words: “Trust greatly in the Lord and do all for His glory.” Together with our Founder’s spirit of “All for God, all by God, all with God,” their lives continue to inspire us today.
As we gather for this Eucharist on the second day of our Vocation Week, and as we prepare to celebrate the 216th birth anniversary of our beloved Founder, our hearts are filled with gratitude. We thank God for the gift of his life, his faith, and his courageous “yes” to God’s call.
We especially pray that God may bless our Congregation and grant many good and holy vocations, especially to our Province. Following the spirit of our Founder, we place all our trust in God’s loving care. As Fr. Raimundo reminded us with great faith: “The Providence of God will provide for us.” With this same trust, we entrust our prayers and our mission to the loving protection of Mary and Joseph. May Mary and Joseph bless us and guide us always as we continue to serve God and invite others to respond generously to His call.
