This is the second video in the series that focuses on learning from mistakes. One of the best ways to learn is to be transparent about failure and what could be done differently next time.

With a global pandemic raging around the world, schools and communities closed. The concern for social and emotional wellbeing as well as the impact on the economy brings added challenges. This Social Reintegration Project challenge was presented to 8th, 9th, and 10th grade students to learn a range of skills during remote learning, while contributing ideas to a global challenge.

While we wait for a vaccine, people are looking for ways to get out of their homes and interacting with others, safely, for school, work, and community events. Personal Protective Equipment has been common in the healthcare industry and a range of other industries for daily use, but not for the general public. The challenge for students was to research what already exists in personal protective equipment, identify a target audience/demographic, and create a line of clothing and protective wear. They chose a teen and young adult demographic living in a Pacific Northwest Climate.

Their goal was to learn the process of starting their own business remotely as school was entirely remote. It included watching a series of Crash Course Business videos, learning about various departments and their rolls in a company, as well as productivity tools.

The Global Goals for Sustainable Development brings awareness to challenges for good health and well-being and sustainable cities and infrastructure.

On May 11th, 2020, the 9th and 10th grade students were assigned certain groups that they applied for and wrote resumes. Each group was assigned certain tasks and collaborated with other groups to design clothing that was protective and could be manufactured.
