Valentina Naforniţa - Widmung by Schumann (CSOTW, 19th June 2011)

Valentina Naforniţa performing "Widmung" by Schumann (Op. 25 no.1) during the 2011 Song Prize Final of the Cardiff Singer Of The World competition.
The Moldovan soprano became the youngest singer in the competition's history to win the Main Prize, and was further honoured with the Dame Joan Sutherland Audience Award. She is best known for her interpretation of Mozart and bel canto repertoire. After her win, she became a member of the Vienna State Opera ensemble, and has since debuted at many major other European opera houses such as Opéra National de Paris, Teatro dell'Opera die Roma, Staatsoper Hamburg and more.
