Tropical Islands "Tropical Islands" is a man-made tropical resort in Brandenburg , Germany . It is stated, that it is the world's largest indoor pool, which can accommodate 7,000 visitors a day. The center is located in Briesen/Brand, a part of Halbe in the Dahme-Spreus Forest district , about 60 km south-east of Berlin , next to the "Staakow" exit of the A13 motorway .

It is located inside a disused hangar, 360 meters long, 210 meters wide and 107 meters high. At 5.5 million m³, it is one of the largest buildings on earth by volume and is the largest free-standing hall in the world without supporting pillars inside. The hangar cost 78 million euros and was originally built by Cargolifter AG as an airship hangar called Aerium . But the airship that was supposed to be housed in the hangar - the CL160 - was never built. Malaysian company Tanjong bought hangar and surrounding land for 17.5 million euros and turned it into a resort with an artificially built tropical location. The center was opened on December 19, 2004 .

Visitors will find a tropical environment with rainforest , beach, artificial sun, palm trees, orchids and bird sounds. The air temperature is 25 °C. The tropical paradise is open 24/7, every day of the year.
