Walk to the Consolidated B24 Liberator which crashed on Beinn Mhealaich, Helmsdale on 18/08/1944.

The a/c was from No 59 Squadron, RAF Ballykelly in Norther Ireland and was returning to base after a long range anti submarine patrol.

Nine out of the ten air crew died . The only survivor, Captain Lloyd was found by rescuers still strapped in his seat quite a distance away from the wreckage.
