Spring At Last-Horse Diary

SPRING!! It's finally here 🌸 And it feels oh so good. Like waking up from a deep sleep and taking a giant breath of fresh air. The earth is fading from brown to green and I'm feeling alive. I think the animals are too. I can tell you for sure the horses are excited about this green grass they get to munch on! I've been taking everyone out on long trail rides through the forest. Enjoying one another's company. Weaver bucked me off for the first time-that really didn't feel good. But, it was a reminder to me that we still have quite a bit of work to do. It's been so fun training her. She has so much spirit and I want to never break that but the question is, how do I maintain her fire yet still have her be a safe horse for me to ride? I've been trying a lot of new techniques to figure all that out and I can't wait to share what I discover. Trout, the mini donkey has also been learning how to be halter trained. He protested a lot at first but now he has the hang of it :)
Anyway, the horses, dogs, donkey and I are overjoyed with the weather. Lots more videos to come soon! xoxo Maddy
