To celebrate the 80th Birthday of Sir Karl Jenkins, Only Boys Aloud Academi perform his In Musico Modulamine using text from Giraldus Cambrensis (Gerald of Wales).

Commissioned for Only Boys Aloud by the Newton-Jones family in memory of Elaine.

In musico modulamine, non uniformiter, ut alibi, set multipliciter, multisque modis et modulis, cantilenas emittunt.
Adeo ut in turba canentium, sicut huic genti mos est, quot videas capita, tot audias carmina discriminaque vocum varia.

In making music, not in unison, as other do, but in parts, in many modes and modulations, they sing.
Whenever in a crowd there is singing, as amongst this people is the custom, as many heads as you may see, so many different song and various voices you will hear.

A little bit about the Only Boys Aloud (OBA) Academi.
Members of the OBA Academi all audition for their place and we work them incredibly hard during a week's residential stay. They start the week without knowing one note of the music and learn the entire concert repertoire from scratch during their residential. They receive two individual singing lessons, five sessions of music theory, movement and dance sessions, and even a 6am bootcamp alongside many hours of rehearsals.
The boys work incredibly hard and we are always exceedingly proud of what they achieve during their week together. Thank you to all the boys and the amazing team of Aloud staff. Craig Yates. Creative Director. Aloud.
