Daily Shake Up No. 995 focuses on two key elements of leadership – passion and purpose. This week I watched one of my favorite movies – Serendipity starring John Cusack and Kate Beckinsale – which includes this powerful line: “You know the Greeks didn’t write obituaries. They only asked one question after a man died — Did he have passion?” It’s a reminder of the powerful role that passion can play in our lives and leadership.

I was also reminded this week of the connection between passion and purpose, and I believe that passion follows purpose (big and small). Thus, if you want more passion in your life embrace more purpose in your life.

Impactful leaders embrace and focus on purpose for themselves, their team and their organization. And the result is more passion and more impact.
