A poo transplant may sound like a gross concept, but for Jane who suffers from bipolar disorder she's been giving it a go...at home.

She told The Feed she isn't willing to wait twenty years for peer reviewed science to treat her mental health condition so she's turned Faecal Microbiota Transplants using poop donated to her from her husband. But the practice is controversial, experts also warn the poo donors need to be properly screened for any diseases and are still researching the best way to administer the transplants in humans
