In The Dojo is a series where I and Ssol interview upcoming and established Music Producers in the world of Dance Music. In this episode, we welcome CID to break down his track Duro. Duro is a heavy driving Tech House record emphasizing arrangement, drums, bass, and vocals. With these four elements in mind, CID produces them out in a way that makes you want to dance and go party all night long.

We first start with the Kick and Bass, where CID goes over his layering kicks. One of the cool things he does is sidechain his extra kicks to avoid getting an overabundance of the transient. He levels them correctly to achieve a dirty kick that helps give his track character. Talking about the bass, he goes over creating it and processing it. CID loves to use a lot of parallel processing to avoid overprocessing. He goes over some excellent sidechain methods and saturation plugins to achieve fatness.

CID breaks down his drums in the track, which he admits are loops he's arranged to work together and give the record the driving feel it has. We've learned watching CID work not to overthink stuff and keep it simple but exciting. CID goes over his processing on the drums, which again shows us how well he executes parallel processing to avoid overproducing his track.
