2 Easy Ways to Separate First & Last Names in Excel

In this video, I show you two easy ways to separate first and last names (or other similar data) in Excel, using flash fill and text to columns.

Enter list of names in column A

Method 1: Flash Fill
· Type first name from A1 into B1 and last name into C1
· Click in cell B2 and click Data tab - Flash Fill
· Click in cell C2 and click Data tab - Flash Fill

Method 2: Text to Columns
· Select column with the names
· Click Data tab - Text to Columns
· Select Delimited, Space, then Finish
