মাহমুদুল ফারুক বাংলাদেশের এক জন পুরোনো গাড়ির সংগ্রাহক। তার এই সংগ্রহ প্রায় ৪৪ বছরের। ১৯৭৭ সালের কথা। তখন খোঁজ পেলেন বিখ্যাত গাড়ি নির্মাতাপ্রতিষ্ঠান ফোর্ড মোটরসের আকর্ষণীয় গাড়ি ফোর্ড মডেল এ (১৯২৭-৩১) গাড়ির। এই গাড়িগুলো চট্টগ্রাম অঞ্চলে দ্বিতীয় বিশ্বযুদ্ধের সময় ব্রিটিশ সেনারা ব্যবহার করতেন। সেই থেকে শুরু করে, তিনি এখন পর্যন্ত বিভিন্ন যুগ থেকে 60 টিরও বেশি ভিনটেজ এবং ক্লাসিক গাড়ি, বিভিন্ন ধরণের মোটরবাইক, একটি মদ ট্র্যাক্টর এবং একটি ছোট বিমান সংগ্রহ করেছেন। তার সংগ্রহের সবচেয়ে আকর্ষণীয় দিক হল এই প্রাচীন গাড়িগুলির প্রত্যেকটির নিজস্ব একটি গল্প রয়েছে। এই কারণেই আমরা এই ছবির নাম দিয়েছি "গল্পের সংগ্রহ"। উদাহরণস্বরূপ, ফারুক তার সংগ্রহে একটি ১৯৫৬ শেভ্রোলেট যা বঙ্গবন্ধু শেখ মুজিবুর রহমান ব্যবহার করেছিলেন। রয়েছে বিখ্যাত পত্রিকা বেগমের সম্পাদক নুরজাহান বেগমের গাড়ি এবং শওগতের সম্পাদক মোহাম্মদ নাসিরউদ্দিনের গাড়ি। বাংলাদেশের এই প্রদীপ্ত ভিনটেজ এবং ক্লাসিক গাড়ি সংগ্রাহক আর আমাদের মাঝে নেই। 2021 সালের 2 শে জুলাই তিনি শেষ নিশ্বাস ত্যাগ করেন। তার মৃত্যুতে আমরা গভীরভাবে শোকাহত। তার জীবনের ইচ্ছা ছিল ভবিষ্যৎ প্রজন্মের জন্য একটি ভিন্টেজ ও ক্লাসিক গাড়ির যাদুঘর স্থাপন করা।

Mahmudul Faruq, an automobile enthusiast, had been collecting vintage cars and some other vintage article of interests for the last 44years. Beginning in 1977, he has so far collected over 60 vintage and classic cars from different eras, various kinds of motorbikes, a vintage tractor and a small airplane. The most interesting aspect of his jaw-dropping collection is that each and every one of these antique cars has a story of its own. Thats why we named this film "Collection of Stories". Some of the cars once belonged to the prominent zaminders of the country, while some belonged to the intellectuals. For example, Faruq has in his collection a 1956 Chevrolet which was used by Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the car of Begum's editor Nurjahan Begum, and the car of Shawgat's editor Mohammad Nasiruddin, among others. This ardent vintage and classic car collector of Bangladesh is no longer with us. On 2nd July 2021 he last his breath. We are deeply saddened by his death. His utmost desire was to set up a museum of vintage & Classic cars.
