At the Heart of our Milky Way lies a Strange Molecular Cloud Containing the Building Blocks of Life!

Near the centre of the Milky Way there are vast clouds of gas. For the first time ever astronomers have identified a new organic molecule in this interstellar medium. This molecule could play a key role in the formation of the amino acids required for life to emerge.

Why are these molecular clouds more dense than the normal ones and far more turbulent? If the spiral arms contain Birkeland currents then these would need to feed into a central area. Could this be the Central Molecular Zone? Why do we find the building blocks of life here? Is it possible that microbial life might actually exist here?
