The north end of the medina is not very easy to get to. Get a taxi to either the Place Moukef or Bab Debbagh, then you will see signs pointing to Bab Debbagh tanneries.
Once you are there you will find someone who will happily show you to the tanneries and a shop, of course, as part of the experience.
They are kind enough to prepare you for your sensorial experience. 😉
Tanneries do not have a nice aroma.
The products used in the treatment process, include pigeon poop as it is acid, so the scent can be overwhelming. The "guide" will provide a little bit of mint to help keeping the smell away.
