JACK ACKERMAN is the boss in town. It’s been that way for the last two years, and he’s not about to give up his title now. Jack is a mean, ruthless leader, and the only way he knows to command authority is through fear. His family of subordinates work tirelessly to keep his empire in order, and
it’s bloody work.But when ex-boss CHARLIE REID arrives back in town after an extended leave of absence, Jack’s position in the gang is suddenly at risk. In response, Jack takes it upon himself to investigate the truth behind their estranged mob-boss’ return. All smiles, Charlie insists he is still out of the game, and has only returned to be with his dying father during his final days.
But despite his calming words, Charlie fails to stay out of the gang’s business, visiting their new casino venture and imparting his personal critique, which only increases Jack’s
unease with the situation. Ultimately, Jack decides he wants Charlie gone, and sets about planning the man’s demise. Meanwhile, Charlie hosts a house party celebrating their return and his son, EDWARD’S, birthday, that sees criminal masterminds from across the city all under one roof. But when Edward and childhood friend MEGAN sneak out of the party, Edward discovers that Megan has illicitly been working for Jack. They fight over stolen firearms, which results in Edward’s
accidental death. When a second deal goes south and Jack’s wife, DANA, is murdered in cold blood, Both Charlie and Jack are convinced that the other is to blame for their losses. The two mob-bosses
go head to head at the casino, and only one comes out alive.
