Another video woodturning my favorite species of wood, eastern red cedar. Except, these logs sat and weathered for 10+ years leaving just the red core of the log. This wood is a true pleasure to make wood working videos with not just because of the incredible grain lines and colors but also because of its workability. It cuts smooth, sands down easily enough and you can use it very soon after being cut down! Freshly cut cedar longs don't shift and crack after being cut into like most uncured logs.
