This is the second episode in a series of 4, addressing the wide scope of constitutional reforms required by #SriLanka to overcome the current #crisis.
Dr. Asanga Welikala; The Director at Edinburgh's Centre for Constitutional Law, joins Roel Raymond to discuss the unprecedented economic crisis in Sri Lanka. Dr. Welikala discusses the relationship between the economy and the constitution and how reforms are required to prevent a future reoccurrence of this situation in the future.

Dr. Welikala emphasizes on the legacy and the impact of the 1978 constitution and while elaborating on the political culture in Sri Lanka.

This series is a collaboration of CPA and the Edinburgh Centre for Constitutional Law, created with the purpose of supporting and providing context for a policy package that is scheduled to be unveiled at the start of 2023.
