Aquaponics: The future of farming that requires no soil or fertilizers!

Aquaponics, a revolutionary agricultural method, ingeniously utilizes fish to facilitate plant growth. The waste produced by fish is rich in ammonia, which the plants readily absorb, subsequently purifying the water. This creates a sustainable cycle wherein water isn't wasted, and plants receive a bounty of essential nutrients like potassium and iron. In 2017, after a transformative trip to Canada where he discovered the advancements of aquaponics over his previously practised hydroponics, Vijay inaugurated what is now India's largest aquaponics farm in Bengaluru. Here, he cultivates a diverse range of vegetables, from lettuce and spinach to tomatoes and beetroot. Notably, aquaponics stands out for its water efficiency, consuming 90% less water than traditional farming.
