Dr. Viraj Karambelkar is scientist researching stellar evolution and the deaths of stars through their observational signatures. Viraj just completed his PhD in astronomy from Caltech and will begin a postdoctoral fellowship at Columbia University this fall. His field of research is time-domain and multi-messenger astronomy - the study of our dynamic sky. He currently studies unusual cosmic explosions, stars that show unusual variations in their brightness and hunting for light from gravitational waves.
