2002: The Queen Mother Lying in State

The last member of the Royal Family to lie in state was Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother in April 2002. At 101 years old, the Queen Mother had seen 20 Prime Ministers. Prince Charles, his siblings, and his children, Prince William and Prince Harry, took part in the procession to Westminster Hall, which was led by the Duke of Edinburgh.
