Today 30 Adventure buddies turned up for one of the most popular hiking trail in Muscat, that’s Muttrah Geotrek. This hike starts from Riyam Park and ends near cemetery at Muttrah, that’s a distance of about 2.4 KMs and then walk fron Muttrah besides the corniche back to Riyam park another 1.7 KMs for a distance of 4.1 KMs.

We were doing this trail today after a gap of 4-5 months as we learnt that this section of this trail was closed due to construction of ropeway 🚠 project between Muttrah Fish Market - Riyam - Kalboo Park. So today, after doing the initial 500 meters, we were surprised to see big area levelled and raised up where we had the usual path. We found our way to climb up that stretch which was bit tricky.

Almost half the of the hiking trail is walking in wadi where we have many small water bodies and today we found that there was too much of algae in these water bodies. We had to navigate our ways from sides to avoid the algae. This made the normal walk more tricky & adventurous.

Weather still continues to be good for hiking. The good part is that we are not directly exposed under sun as the trail is under shades for about 2 hours from sunrise.

We finished the trail in 2:25 hours as planned even with many photo stops and slowing down due to route deviations.
