Kansas Waterfowl Wheat Field Goose Hunting: "Plan B" - Fowled Reality

Regardless of if you're goose hunting, chasing ducks or any kind of waterfowl, having a plan b is always important. No matter how much scouting or planning you put into a hunt, something is bound to go wrong. Being able to quickly adjust can make all the difference at the end of the hunt.

Cold temperatures had set in across Kansas and the morning we scouted this area, temperatures were around 20 degrees with daytime highs barely climbing above freezing and the next day was to be warmer. Geese were using both the pond and the wheat field. We had planned on setting up in the brushy bank of the pond for a honker hunt over water, but when we arrived that next morning the pond was frozen and was too deep to bust without a boat. See what we did as a "Plan B" to end the hunt with a 6 man limit of Kansas honkers!
