I went on this ship with my family out of Galveston Tx and had a great time. I have been on many Carnival cruises and can say that this ship was the nicest of all the Carnival cruises I have been on. The Carnival Magic has taken all the best parts of all the Carnival ships and put them into this one. I would highly recommend the Carnival Magic or the Carnival Breeze (sister ship). The Magic has a bit of a different feel than most of the other Carnival ships. It has a bit more of an upscale feel but definitely has not lost the exciting fun feel. I would say there is less neon on this ship. The Carnival Magic is a big ship and found myself struggling to get my bearings early in the cruise, a small price to pay for the overwhelming amount of different activities and spaces on this ship. Overall I would recommend the Carnival Magic if you are looking for a Carnival cruise. I think that any other ship at this point may be a bit of a let down for me.
