This video was filmed at the Mission Bay South Shores Boat Launching Area, located along the southern edge of Mission Bay just off SeaWorld Drive in San Diego. You’re right on the water here, but still very close to the city. SeaWorld sits right next door, and the University of San Diego lies inland beyond the bay, creating a mix of open water views and an urban backdrop. From this spot, you can also see Fiesta Island stretching across the bay.

I visited this location on a bit of a whim, choosing a place I hadn’t really explored before. During filming, the atmosphere felt unexpectedly peaceful. The wide open space, gentle movement of the water, and steady rhythm of the bay made it easy to slow down and take everything in. The large nearby parking lot is commonly used by boaters, and you’ll also see people parking campers and RVs here.

It was fairly windy at times, so apologies in advance for any wind noise — that coastal breeze is part of Mission Bay’s character. The wind added texture to the water and movement to the scene, creating a balance between calm reflection and constant motion.
