Padmé Amidala (full name Padmé Amidala Naberrie) is one of the most iconic characters in the Star Wars saga. Portrayed by Natalie Portman, she first appears in The Phantom Menace (1999) as the young, elected Queen of Naboo, leading her planet through a Trade Federation invasion with remarkable courage and diplomacy.

She later becomes the Senator of Naboo during the Clone Wars, fighting for democracy and peace in the Galactic Senate while secretly marrying Anakin Skywalker. Their forbidden romance is central to the prequel trilogy, leading to the birth of Luke Skywalker and Leia Organa. Tragically, Padmé dies in childbirth in Revenge of the Sith, losing the will to live after witnessing Anakin's fall to the dark side.
