Step by step instructions for replacing a lawn sprinkler Stop & Waste valve.

A stop & waste valve on a lawn sprinkler system enables the sprinkler system to be isolated from the water service line to the house. When the stop & waste valve is turned on it supplies water to the sprinkler system, and when the valve is shut off it drains the supply line water out a port in the valve which helps prevent freezing of the sprinkler system in winter.

In this video I replace a faulty stop & waste valve. The valve in this video has froze (stuck) in the open position and can't be turned off requiring that the valve be replaced. Video covers excavation, valve replacement, and sanitizing of the water line. Parts used in video are annotated.
