Presenter and journalist Philip Boucher-Hayes walks two loops in the Glengarriff Woods Nature Reserve and on Garnish Island in Cork.

Philip starts on the Esknamucky Loop, a 3km woodland walk in the Glengarriff Nature Reserve, which covers some 300 hectares, and is one of the most important woodland reserves in Ireland. Here Philip learns about the ecology of the area and meets local park ranger Claire Heardman who gives Philip a head start on the type of trees and the flora and fauna he will encounter on his journey.
