Thomas Edison’s most prolific invention is arguably not the lightbulb we all know him for, but the lab in Menlo Park New Jersey that he used to create it. Edison pioneered the world’s first research and development team there, working with a group of experimenters to methodically home in on the holy grail of electric light. In the process, he forever changed the way we would create world defining inventions.
