If it is your lane that's ending, you must give way to any traffic already in the lane you are moving into.

When there are no marked lanes, but different lines of traffic merging together into one, you must give way to any vehicle that's in front of you.

Simple misunderstandings of road rules can cause a lot of grief - from near misses and minor crashes to serious injury or worse. Road rules are developed for your safety so make sure you know and follow them at all times.
