I purchased a pack of 10 Energizer Max batteries to use in my Pixelstick, (a light painting LED device for light photography) and within 42 minutes of putting them into my Pixelstick I heard a bubbling and fizzing noise coming from the battery pack.

I immediately removed the batteries from the device and they were leaking battery acid all over the place, It went on my hands and all over my equipment.
 
I have placed the batteries into a plastic bag, they are still leaking - here is the evidence.
