Christian Calvillo (U. Strathclyde Centre for Energy Policy) and Helen Heinz (Nottingham Trent University) presented research on "Community Engagement in Low Carbon Projects in Orkney". Calvillo spoke on direct and indirect benefits for the Orkney community, who still has high levels of fuel and transport poverty, and Heinz presented part of her PhD research on understanding what can make community engagement attractive to both the community and investors in an island micro-grid context.
