The Port of Liverpool is now officially part of the biggest ever carbon saving project in Europe as a new hundred million pound terminal celebrates its first full day of shipments of sustainable biomass pellets bound for the Drax Power Station in Selby.

Drax is the UK’s biggest single generator of renewable power, with enough electricity being generated to power over three million homes.

Our reporter Nathan Griffiths headed down to the new terminal to see off the first biomass freight train to leave the Port of Liverpool.
