"SANTIAGO DE CUBA - LA CASA DE LA TROVA" - Dutch Theatre Tour (2014/2015):
The Casa de la Trova has traditionally been the meeting place for musicians and music lovers in Santiago de Cuba. Here the Cuban folk music, the "Son", developed, which later conquered the world, thanks in part to the "Buena Vista Social Club".
The Estudiantina Ensemble goes back to its roots: moving boleros, stately danzones and swinging sones. As one of the last in the world, the 8-piece orchestra plays in an authentic line-up that includes timpani (French baroque timpani) and two tres guitars.
After various successful tours through Europe, the Far East and of course Cuba, a large number of Dutch theatres will be visited for the first time this year.
On the program: an evening full of overwhelmingly beautiful and swinging music.!
