Women, Peace and Security in Ukraine: One Year Later

Описание к видео Women, Peace and Security in Ukraine: One Year Later

24 February 2023 marks one full year of Ukrainians defending the integrity of their country against Russia’s full-scale invasion. Despite local women’s key role in humanitarian action, peacebuilding, and relief and recovery processes, they are rarely meaningfully engaged in decision-making on humanitarian action, crisis communications and cybersecurity and support for survivors of conflict-related sexual violence (CRSV) particularly those who decide to testify about the crimes committed against them — three key issues raised by Ukrainian women’s civil society at the onset of the February 2022 invasion.

On the sidelines of CSW67, with support of the Austrian Development Agency (ADA), the Global Network of Women Peacebuilders (GNWP), Zhiva Ya, Unity For the Future, WFUWO, NGO CSW/NY, the Permanent Mission of Austria to the United Nations in New York and the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) hosted the panel discussion “One Year Later” with Ukrainian women peacebuilders and experts to hear directly from Ukrainian women civil society leaders.
