How to Protect Your Personal Archives from Climate Change

Описание к видео How to Protect Your Personal Archives from Climate Change

Learn how to preserve your personal collection of journals, photographs, family albums and documents from the risk of damage due to climate change. John Kabuye Kalungi, a Building Surveyor and Climate Change and Resilience expert walks you through ways to protect important memories dear to you and your family.

This video tutorial is part of our larger digitisation work protecting crucial #NRBLibraries archives at the McMillan Memorial Library on Banda Street in Nairobi. These crucial archives were identified as part of our cataloguing process throughout 2019, which created the libraries’ first-ever digital catalogue consisting of 137,705 items. The project was supported by British Councils’ Cultural Protection Fund and was delivered in partnership with African Digital Heritage and the Built Environment Surveyors & Infrastructure Consultancy (BESIC) Group.
