Books & the Bluegrass is Spencer County Public Library's video podcast where we aim to discover amazing authors, artists, and creatives throughout the county and the state of Kentucky. This is our second episode, discussing Belinda G. Buchanan's writing process and her newest, award-winning book "The House on the Cliff" which is available in SCPL's collection, along with all her other novels!

​Belinda creates stories that deal with very personal and social issues: Alcoholism, mental illness, adultery, and domestic abuse, as well as some other taboo subjects. Belinda aims to write strong women-centered fiction. Her characters aren't perfect. Belinda demonstrates that even heroes have a chink or two in their armor. It's what makes them human... and fascinating.

​​Belinda G. Buchanan was born and raised in Kentucky and currently resides in Taylorsville with husband, two sons, and a menagerie of animals. Besides being a full-time writer, mom, and professional hamster wrangler, she is also a firm believer that Krazy Glue fixes everything.
