pharmacogonsy made of two words
1. pharmakon = drug
2. gnosis = klowledge

pharmacogonsy = knowledge of drugs.


drug are two types
1. Natural - obtained from nature.
2. Synthetic - prepared in pharmaceutical lab and chemical reaction are involved.

Pharmacognosy is systematic study of crude drugs obtained from natural origin like plant animal and Minerals.
