Hi friends, I decided to only play Genshin's newest event after I finished celebrating Chinese New Year with my parents such that I have enough allocated time with family. I wouldn't go into much detail about my personal life, but it's safe to say I had a lot of fun. The year of snake is truly wonderful. In another topic, I had just finished my first ever draft of my Italian project. Though I am still learning about the basics of Italian grammar, I can see my skills improving quickly with each iteration I made.
Let's discuss the event story in this update. I don't know what to tell you, but I am extremely emotionally connected with Hu Tao during the story. Although not as connected as back during Freminet's Thelxie event, I believe the writer's execution of the story is still on point. Enough to stir my emotions in the right direction. I AM THRILLED. I wish there would be more event stories in Genshin that would improve on the narrative execution to leave much of an impact as this one and Thelxie's.
About Tao Dou. I don't really know where to start with this. It feels more like an event specific gimmic rather than something that nicely ties to the history of Liyue. Sure, we'd have the Yunlai Angler connect to modern-day Qiqi and Keqing (or the Wind Reader, which connects to Lanyan's Qimen art). Other than that, however, they don't really tie in much to the recent history of Liyue or Teyvat in general. Compared to the previous event in the chasm with Yelan, Yanfei, Kuki Shinobu, Arataki Itto, and Xiao himself, at the very least they help explain some of the mysteries surrounding Liyue's important Yaksha Bosacius. Amazingly enough, you don't need to understand any of this gimmick to immerse yourself into the story.
On another note, I also decided to give myself some time off with my friend to celebrate some of the achievements I made this month and get myself into some of the festive atmosphere. I decided to visit one of the most famous tourist spots in another city near me. Although I'm not the kind of person to be interested in museums, I still had some fun looking through the historic record of this city and how the artistic medium of which the history was recorded in.
At that same city, a month ago, I bought my first ever unofficial Genshin merch. Safe to say, I had plenty of fun while traveling with my friend, although a new semester is about to start. I will end the description of this video with a more positive note for the future of myself and my project.
