SWELL (Swimming, Wellness, Events, Leisure, and Lifestyle) Palmerston is Palmerston’s largest infrastructure project to date. The existing 50m concrete pool is 40 years old, and in desperate need of basic but critical upgrades to improve efficient use and operation. Moreover, due to the lack of safe beaches and rivers in NT, the importance of functional and adequate swimming pools grow.

The key drivers in the development of SWELL Palmerston were
-promoting community health and wellness,
-building community connectedness,
-embracing inclusive community, and
-fostering safe communities.

To achieve these goals, the creation of other pools beyond the refurbishment of the 50m pool were imperative. This includes a new warm water program pool – ideal for swimming lessons, a new leisure pool – comprised of both zero depth zone and shallow body of water, perfect for water introduction, and a multi-level adventure play obstacle course – designed to test balance, develop problem solving, and be a lot of fun will make SWELL a multi-generational destination.

Our work at SWELL Palmerston in the City of Palmerston exemplifies our position as a leader in the swimming pool and aquatic development space. Myrtha’s stainless steel modular technology was utilised to create and enhance a facility that will serve the community for decades to come.
