Описание к видео Isaiah Vidal

Killington, VT - This weekend's Spartan World Championship Race in Killington attracts some of the most extreme and intense athletes around including some Olympians. The athletes come from all over the world but none came quite like 20-year old Texan Isaiah Vidal. He came to Vermont on his bicycle from Austin, TX.

"When I met with Joe DiSena, the CEO and founder of Spartan Race, he challenged me to bike from Texas all the way to Vermont for this race." explains Vidal. "And 2,000-plus miles later, I'm here."

It's hard to know which is crazier, participating in the Spartan Beast Ultra Race, a 26-plus mile race with 25 mind and body-challenging obstacles, or biking from Austin to his room in Pittsfield, VT.

"It teaches you the concept of life." says Vidal. "You know, life isn't easy. There's obstacles in life and you have to overcome them.
When I started this bike ride, I never biked over 25 miles in one day and I biked 135 the first day, 150 the second."

Vidal's trip from Austin, TX to Pittsfield, VT took him 16 days; a total of 133 hours on the bike averaging about 14 miles per hour.

"It was brutal. It was taxing on my body. It was painful." Vidal says.

This weekend Vidal, the 9th-ranked American male, will face off against fellow obstacle endurance racers including several Olympians in the sports' biggest race. Although, none had quite the same warm-up as Vidal.

"A lot of people would say, it won't prepare you for this race but honestly I don't know what it did for me." says Vidal. "All I know is that I did a very that was able to inspire people. That anything is possible if you just put yourself in the position to actually do it. And just to take the chance and take the opportunity to do it in life. And for me, I'm so glad that at 20 I was able to do something like this. It's just it's a blessing. A true blessing."

"I'll be shipping it back to Austin." he added. "I'm going to be flying home."
