How to put a hat silk on a riding hat

Hat silks are a great way to make a jockey skull look a lot more stylish.

Whether you pick a hat silk in your cross country colours to coordinate with your cross country set, your favourite colour, or you want to make your skull cap have the appearance of a traditional velvet covered riding hat, hat silks can help. They are also easy to change – if you know how- meaning your one riding hat can have many different looks.

In this video, Kathryn from RB Equestrian is going to show you how to put a hat silk on your riding hat. Some key points to note:

• Start with your riding hat on a solid surface- it’ll make it easier!
• Put the peak of the silk halfway down the front of the hat before you pull the back over the riding hat
• Never pull the peak over the front on your hat as it could impair your vision and even make you wear your hat too far back.
