Cab Ride - Sutton Park Line

Cab ride from Walsall to Water Orton via Sutton Park (approx 14 miles).

This was taken prior to 2008 since when a large amount of lineside trees were removed. The video also shows some of the older Saltley signals and the crossover points at Sutton Park old station which were all removed in April 2012.

The line was built by the Midland Railway and opened in July 1879, initially being known as the Walsall & Water Orton Railway. Passenger services lasted until January 1965 when withdrawn, the five stations between Walsall and Water Orton then being closed. Since that date the line has continued as a freight-only railway, with only the occasional passenger charter or diversion passing through.
