Summertime in Middle-earth! So many summery things to do, suggested to you in this collection.

-- "Dancing with Myself" by Billy Idol 12:48 (music Twynk & Geoffroi, lyrics Holly) dancing at Middle-earth's Party Tree is a favourite summer pastime...thank you to the many friends making a guest appearance here, and for the screen shots that were not all mine...this is a song I used to make last minute changes to depending in part on who was in the Andune audience
-- "Stoned Soul Picnic" by The 5th Dimension & Laura Nyro 16:08 (music & lyrics Holly) picnicking near bag-end is a perfect summer activity in Middle-earth...especially to celebrate birthdays or un-birthdays
-- "99 Red Balloons" by Nena 19:31 (music Geoffroi, lyrics Holly) my imagined Fourth Age Nirvana in Middle-earth, centered on a picnic at Halecatch Lake near Bree...this song was one of the most enjoyable to write, and both Geoff and I loved it dearly. For three weeks I went on marathon walks with my iPod, playing the original over and over, then playing a MP3 of Geoff's abc over and over, pausing to make barely literate notes. Of all the songs I ever wrote, this is the one I most wish I could visualize in a film, but it takes an artist to draw the scenes, and my talents do not lie in that direction. If anyone reading this wishes to make drawings illustrating the lyrics, I would be delighted, and would redo this as a standalone film. Get in touch! As it is, I only added one thing at the end, including a real picture of "Jim's Song," the red and golden daylilies I grow for Geoffroi.
