Bihar Bridge Collapses: A Story of Neglect & Crumbling Infrastructure

The budget gave Bihar a big boost in terms of infrastructure. But the state has been in the news for the last many weeks over the many bridges that have collapsed, sometimes even five in a single day. The government's own initial assessment shows that its engineers and contractors have shown scant regard for standard operating procedures. The Nitish Kumar government has suspended at least 15 engineers and promised to build new bridges by making the guilty contractors pay for it. We take a closer look at how Bihar's crumbling bridges have been scripting a story on criminal negligence that's now out in the open for all to see.
