The 3DO is a 1990s Nostalgia Machine

The 3DO was a gaming system from the early 1990s that promised a new generation of graphics, sound, and gameplay but failed to overtake the major consoles of the time from Sega, Nintendo, and Sony.

This was the system I grew up playing through, and the 3DO library is a fun example of 1990s alternative gaming design. Some major series in gaming started on this system and many developers experimented with new types of games.
