South Korean forensics have gained access to some amazing high-tech equipment.
They are looked to provide a great boost, including in accurately determining a murder weapon.
Jang Tae-hyun gets us better acquainted with the team and their tools.
In a dim dark room, a fingerprint is being analyzed using a ray of light.
Joo Eunah, a researcher at the National Forensic Service, uses this technique to detect many different kinds of evidence found at crime scenes.

"Every action leaves a trace. Even an action to erase the trace leaves evidence."

From minor offences to murder, any possible trace is looked for.
These high-tech devices can zoom in so that objects appear 200 times larger... and even be turned into 3D images to help determine what kind of weapon has been used.
Just as Eunah and her team did when a dead body was found near a mountain back in 2015.

"During that time, we found out what kind of tool was used. So after that incident, we were put in-charge of most of the sawn bone cases related to murder."

Footprints can be another hint.
These devices can even detect footprints in people's clothes... which could be crucial in solving cases related to violent crimes.
"We used a reagent and found a footprint inside. It was the same as the suspect's, so we confirmed that there was an assault."

The team also visits the crime scene to find any possible bloodstains and even reconstructs the scene to understand what happened.
They are leaving no stone unturned to find any kind of evidence,... so that the criminal can be brought to justice.
