Mizutani Scissors - Scissor over comb mens cut using The Hybrid by Eugene Souleiman & SWORD DB20

One of our finalists for our #ICUTWITHMIZUTANI competition from 2019. This video entry is from Kawada Hair Studio, a fantastic and very skilled cutter and colourist, currently based in Sydney, Australia. The idea of the video was to show how you use your Mizutani Scissors.

About the Haircut:
1. Using a shorter blade scissor here, The Hybrid Model, for a controlled scissor over comb action over targeted areas, moving around the side of the hair. This limited edition model is great for this, because it is light and thin.
2. The Y.S. Park Super Tapered Comb (YS-234/254) is used to get to those already short sections around the neck and the side burns
3. Using the cosine razor to remove excess baby hair from the nape of the neck but keeping a softly blended look, and no harsh lines.
4. Working on creating some texture and layering by point cutting with the Hybrid Scissors.
5. Once the hair had dried, going over the finished cut with the DB20 in 7.2" to even out and refine the finished haircut
6. The end of the video shows the right way to position your scissors and wrist for comfortable work and precise movements.

About the Scissors
1. COSINE RAZOR: The cosine razor is designed for freehand style texturising. you can use different blades to remove more or less hair with more or less texture

2. The Hybrid by Eugene Souleiman. This scissor was designed with Mizutani by Eugene Souleiman, an ultra slim design, with a nice straight blade design. For precision work

3. The SWORD DB20. This is a great all-rounder model suitable for barbering and hairdressing. A blunt cutting scissor that again features the Sword handle which is designed for giving you that precision cut feeling. The DB20 is one of those easy to understand and use scissors. What you see if what you get. Sharp, straight blunt lines with a nice pointed tip for precision work.
