My family had hired a car from Chandigarh to Shimla.
The driver of the car was a little careless and not driving very safely.

At one point on the two lane ghat section, we began trailing a HRTC (Himachal Road Transport Corporation) bus for quite some time. My car driver tried to overtake it a couple of times but did not get a clear stretch, as to overtake he had to go in to the opposite lane.

Then I started recording...

Finally he got a small gap in the opposing traffic and pulled out to overtake the bus, just few meters before a blind curve, where we could not see the traffic coming.

And sure enough, a car came round the bend at good speed. Just in the nick of time, my driver swerved back into our lane in front of the bus and narrowly missed hitting the car.

His reaction was quick and the drivers who drive on these ghat roads regularly are quite good, no doubt. But some of them take unnecessary risks which can endanger their lives and others.

Please drive carefully and safely in all situations.
