Did you know that using mustard cake, neem cake, and groundnut cake can lead to nitrogen toxicity in your soil? Nitrogen toxicity occurs when there is an excessive amount of nitrogen present, which can harm your Mango plants and hinder their growth. We usually use compost to enrich the soil with nitrogen, but repeatedly adding these cakes as liquid fertilizers or in mixed fertilizers can overload the soil with nitrogen. In mustard cake, neem cake, and groundnut cake, nitrogen is higher than the compost. Using those types of cakes can cause nitrogen toxicity in the soil. What is nitrogen toxicity? The poisoning in the soil is due to excessive nitrogen. We use compost when preparing soil. Then nitrogen is added to the soil. Later, nitrogen is increased in the soil when these cakes are applied as a liquid fertilizer or used when making mixed fertilizers.
