Kira Municipality MP and Opposition Chief Whip Ibrahim Ssemujju Nganda has formally announced his intention to run for the speaker position in the 11th parliament.

Ssemujju joins a race that already features incumbent Speaker Rebecca Kadaga and his Deputy Jacob Oulanyah, for the 3rd most powerful position in the country.

Meanwhile West Budama South MP, Jacob Oboth has also declared his intentions to stand for Deputy Speakership.
